The company that developed and formerly managed operations at Indiana Live is suing owners of the Shelbyville casino, alleging they conspired to prevent the management company from building a gambling facility in Maryland.
According to a report in the Baltimore Sun, a $600 million defamation, business interference and invasion of privacy suit was filed Feb. 15 in Baltimore Circuit Court by the Cordish Companies. The suit accuses owners of Indiana Downs and others of attempting to sabotage construction of Cordish's Maryland casino.
Cordish also alleges that owners of Indiana Live did not pay the company $8.4 million in management fees. Cordish is seeking $300 million in compensatory damages and $300 million in punitive damages.
