A Thanksgiving message from Keehotee Press II blogger, Francis Robinson:
"I am sitting here this morning thinking about friends and family that are no longer among us and in many cases regretting that I failed to tell them while they were alive how much I liked them. I don't mean the gushy superficial "I love you's" to everybody that seem in such vogue today, just simple everyday politeness, civility and thank-you's. Just be nice to somebody today, they may not be here tomorrow...
I am so saddened by the level of hate that is becoming the way of thinking for so many in today's America. It is rising to the surface like floating pond scum... Self serving selfishness and greed, racism and belligerence over simple ideological differences... So sad...
Some of us will have to loosen our belts a bit before the day is over (I will) which is fine. We just need to remember that many others around us will have to tighten theirs... Eat your fill, just don't be one that wantonly wastes food as if it were of little value.
Some around us would truly love to have what we throw away... Be thankful today that you are not one of them.
We could probably feed a decent meal to a third of the world's starving population with just the food that will be wasted across America today...
Chat later".
