A wedding in their future?
A wedding in their future?

The April Fool

Justin Timberlake rolled into Shelbyville late Sunday evening accompanied by his girlfriend, actress Jessica Biel. Timberlake arrived from Chicago where he appeared on Friday's Oprah Winfrey Show. The pop star singer stayed at the private Shelbyville home of a dear, personal friend then attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony early Monday morning before heading off to New York.

The identity of Timberlake's Shelbyville friend remains a mystery, nevertheless, many local officials were delighted that the popular singer took time from his hectic schedule to visit our city. People in the know, who have asked to remain anonymous, report that the pop star was very impressed with our city. Even though the couple was only here for a few hours, they found time to get out and see the sights.

I'm not one for celebrity gossip, especially after the recent flap that occurred at the new Racino concerning Timberlake's missed appearance at the grand opening. However when rumors about celebrities like Justin and Jessica are floating around, I feel compelled to share them with you.

So, here's the scoop according to someone who knows, but doesn't want his name used in this article. A few local people who are friends with Timberlake say they would not be surprised if Justin and Jessica return soon. There is speculation that the couple has decided to be married in Shelbyville in a civil ceremony performed by our mayor. The celebs are reportedly carefully considering where they will hold the nuptials and the reception.

The smart money is betting the event will take place at the new Racino.

I heard that Timberlake was disappointed when he got here that there was no "Fat Fish Friday" going on that weekend. Then, he went to Kendall's Bar and found it closed. Another disappointment. Then, he went downtown on a Saturday night to see and hear the "Illegal Muffler Pick-up Truck and Motorcycle Parade." But it was a cold, rainy night and not as many as usual were in the parade.
He didn't even need the ear plugs he had brought along.

He was curious about the big meeting center out at Intelliplex, but couldn't even find a vending machine in the place that sold Moon Pies.

All in all, a disappointing visit to Shelbyville for Justin and his girlfriend.

Rumor has it that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are scheduled to make an appearance at the Racino a week from next Tuesday.
